25 Ways to Increase Traffic on Your Website                                                         25 Ways to Increase Traffic on Your Website

In this article, I will be showing you 25 ways to increase traffic on your website. To be a success in your online business, website or domain traffic is necessary. Without visitors, all your time, great content, and hard work would go to waste, right?

In addition to traffic, you also need targeted traffic to be successful. Targeted traffic is those visitors that are looking for exactly what your articles are addressing, promoting, and selling. Below I have compiled a list of ways to increase traffic to your website.

Social Marketing

Sharing your posts and articles on social media platforms is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your website. No longer is writing great content enough. Remember, your shared content needs to be helpful, relevant, and engaging. Dropping your links is not enough, you will also need to engage with your followers otherwise they could care less what you are talking about.                                                                                  social media marketing to boost promtion of your business collage

Some of the most popular social sites to share on are Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram, and Tumblr. This can vary depending on who you ask and their preferences.

Every time you publish a new article, you should also be posting on all the social media platforms that you are associated with. You should also be scheduling your posts, at least 5 spread throughout the month. Make sure you are covering the different benefits and angles of your articles to be sure that you peak the interests of your readers. There will be a higher likelihood that your posts are seen by your audience.

Social media platforms such as Facebook and Google+ also have groups and communities that you can join to target topics such as home-based business, blogging, and digital marketing. Be sure to join these groups and share within these forums for more exposure. Don’t forget to engage with other’s content.

Paid Advertising

One way to drive traffic to your website is to pay for ads. There are many options available, there are Google Search ads, Bing, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Reddit ads. You want to be careful when spending on paid advertising as it can get costly, you could end up spending more money than you are generating in revenue. I should know because in the beginning, it happened to me. I can say from experience that you need to manage your risk carefully.

To be successful and not end up upside down, you will need to run a small experiment and if it is profitable scale up.   paid search for Google Bing Yahoo

Google search, Bing search, and Yahoo search ads target customers who are searching for their interests, needs, etc. Google’s paid advertisements are more expensive than that of Bing and Yahoo due to their overall reach is 63% of web users while Bing is just under 23% of the market.

Social media advertising on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Reddit are different from the search ads in that you target your audience by interests, behaviors, and demographics. You must use a different approach than used with search ads, however advertising on these platforms can be profitable.

Write Compelling Headlines/Titles

Titles are one of the most important parts of your content. Without a captivating headline, even your best post can go unread. Mastering the art of headline writing is essential, this is what will grab your audience’s attention. If your headline does not peak interest it will be overlooked, not clicked.

  1. Hey Swana!

I didn’t know many of the ways to get more traffic. There are really a lot of them.

I’m actually using mainly on-page SEO, internal linking and relevant quality content. I’m also sharing on social media, but I don’t think it’s doing too much for my traffic.

Do you have any advice of how to share the content to engage on places like Facebook, Google+ and Twitter? Is it just about the title or is there some “secret tactic” that can be used? 🙂

And by the way, about guest blogging. Is it necessary to be an authority in a certain niche before you start offering posts, or if you already have quality content on you blog people would let you do it?

Thanks for the interesting post. Bookmarked! 🙂

    1. Hello Israel!

Yes, there are many ways to get more traffic on your website than what we usually can think of initially.

Using social media to drive more traffic to your website would have to be one of the more successful ways to use. There is not a “secret tactic” that you can use with social media, however, being more social will definitely help.

What I mean by being “more social” is when you are on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ engage with your followers by asking questions, finding out about their likes and dislikes, and making your content sharable.

Those are just a couple of tips. Of course, you want your titles to be captivating at all times.

To start guest blogging you don’t have to be an authority in your niche yet, however, you want to make sure your content is awesome. You can make yourself more noticeable by visiting and commenting on other blogs in your niche, and you can even directly ask for that guest blogging spot. It helps for your social presence to be noticeable.

Thank you for visiting my site and for your comment. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I will get back to you ASAP.

I have to admit that I’m not so great with promoting myself on social media so your post has pushed me to spend some more time doing that.
I also didn’t know that having the Alexa toolbar can help with traffic to my site. I had better download that now!

The Alexa Toolbar is a pretty awesome tool and gives you information about the sites that you visit. There will be a small icon in the upper right hand of your screen after you enable the extension. Turn it on when you visit a website, so you can see the type of stats that it provides so you can see what others see about your site.
