How Often Should You Post on a Blog
When I started blogging there were many important things that I had yet to learn. My number one question was, “How often should you post on a blog?” I had no idea that the frequency of my posts would have such a large impact on the success of my website, but it does.
The answer that I got when I asked how many articles I should post on my blog was different depending on who I asked. I have heard that the best posting frequency is; 1-2 times a week, 3 posts a week, 12 posts a month, and every day.
If I was unsure about how many articles I should post before I asked this question I was definitely confused now. I knew that I needed some direction.
So, I looked online and found some help, thank goodness! My help came in a Wealthy Affiliate University membership. They gave me the training that I needed to successfully build and maintain my websites, generate traffic, create content, etc. Basically, the questions that I had about content creation and digital marketing were answered with the training. I also have unlimited, live access to the community which is filled with seasoned entrepreneurs who love to help others. I couldn’t have made a better choice.
Well, let’s get back to the subject at hand. How often should you post on a blog? How many posts are ideal for your niche and your personal lifestyle? There is no one size fits all answer to this question.
What works for someone else may not work for you. Where 5 posts a week may be ideal for one of your peers, this may be too many for you for one reason or another. You may not have the time to commit to that many articles. The great news is you don’t have to post every day or even every other day to be a successful blogger. What you do need to do is figure out a routine that works for you. Keep these things in mind:
- Find a routine that works and stick to it
- Analyze your past posts for your most popular content
- Find and publish evergreen content
- Be consistent for your readers
- Create a content calendar
One thing that I want to stress with you is the importance of being consistent. After you have locked down a routine and it is working for you, stick to it. Your readers come to depend on you for your content. You do not want to lose your following, consistency is crucial.
My Final Opinion
Finding a content posting routine is crucial to your success as a blogger. How often should you post on a blog? The answer to that question is whatever works for you. Like I said earlier, what works someone else will not necessarily work for you.
Find your comfort zone, create a content schedule and get to posting. It is true that the more content that your website is creating the better. Try to increase the number of articles that you post in your own time. Have fun blogging, it’s not supposed to feel like a chore.
